About

Mike's Smiling FacePhotography is one of my passions. I take a camera nearly everywhere I go and photograph anything that's interesting to me. I take lots of pictures.

This picture was taken after three grueling days at a workshop in Yellowstone, and I'm still smiling. How can you not smile when a famous photographer is taking your picture. Who? None other than Joe McNally. Joe was doing his famous "flash demo", and I volunteered to be his subject. Why? Flash is one of those things I need to learn more about, and what better way than to have it shoved right in your face. I have lots to learn in other areas, too.

Since my Dad always had a camera in his hand, my photography follows in his footsteps. We both love landscape/nature photography.

One thing my Dad would not photograph is people. Any time a group would start lining up, my Dad would walk away. Of course, people could and would be in a lot of his photographs, just nothing posed. This is one area that I decided I needed to learn more about, so I did.

I grew up in Michigan and have lived in Vermont, Idaho, and Maine. I currently reside in Millinocket, Maine.
